Anniversary Celebration

What did we celebrate?

Back on Saturday, September 16th, King’s Cross Church celebrated the 71st year of 2nd Baptist Church, the 10th year of King’s Cross, and the 1st year of the merger between the two churches.

Fellowship, Food, and Fun

There were many activities for the kids, such as bounce houses, games, concessions, and face painting. The adults and kids both enjoyed a great meal that included a hog roast (sponsored and prepared by Burdette and Jean M.) as well as all the fixins, thanks to the members of the church and the Meal Team for all their hard work.

Reflection and Worship

The Anniversary Celebration was well attended and presented the history of both churches recorded in hard copy pictures scattered about the Fellowship Hall as well as a video presentation expertly prepared by Sam S. We were treated to a short service in the Sanctuary that honored the past of both churches, celebrated the present, and gave a glimpse in to the future. Many hands went into this event, and we thank each of those who were a part of putting this celebration together. We believe that King’s Cross Church has a bright future in and around the community of Defiance. We are still looking for the elusive “time capsule.” Stay tuned for more developments.
