Weekly Fighter Verse
Matthew 5:11-12
Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Weekly New City Catechism
Question 34: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God’s Word?
Answer*: Yes, because Christ, having redeemed us by his blood, also renews us by his Spirit; so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; so that we may be assured of our faith by the fruits; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

Next Sunday's Sermon Text
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

RECAP: KCC ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
“Remembering Our Past, Celebrating Our Present, And Embracing Our Future.”
We hope you were able to join us for the celebration last weekend. The Lord gave us great weather, a good time of fellowship, and joy in reflecting on His goodness to us. Here is a quick video recap if you were not able to make it.
Cancelled KCC CONTINENTAL SUNDAY BREAKFASTS
October 1st | 9AM – 9:45AM @ 2nd St
Many of those on our meal team will be away the first week in October so we will not be having our monthly church breakfast on October 1st. We will plan to resume breakfasts on the first Sunday of each month in November. In the future, we have worked out a solution to avoid having to cancel breakfasts in the future Lord willing.
COVENANT MEMBERS’ MEETING
Sunday, September 24th @ 2nd St Following the Worship Gathering
KCC Covenant Members will meet in the auditorium immediately following the worship gathering. Childcare and light snacks provided. If you’re not a member but are interested in learning more about covenant membership in the local church, click on the button below.
MEMBERSHIP MATTERS
October 1st & 8th | 1:30-3:30PM @ 2nd St Building
We believe that the church is the family of God on the mission of God. We love one another as brothers and sisters. Yet we are also missionaries who are teaming up to advance God’s kingdom. We believe this is best lived out in the context of covenant membership in a local church.
If you can only make one session, you can still pursue membership. You can makeup the session by listening to the Membership Matters podcast and then we will follow up with you. Please let us know if you are planning to attend by clicking on the corresponding button below.
“EMBRACING MOTHERHOOD” MOM’S GROUP
Every Monday Evening in October | 6:00pm – 7:30pm @ 2nd St Building
There is a mom’s group studying the book M is for Mama by Abbie Halberstadt this October with the goal of fighting back stereotypes about motherhood. If you’re a mom, consider joining them to explore ways to celebrate Christ not only in the victories, but also in the challenges of parenting. For more information or to sign up, click on the button below.
We Would Love to Pray for You
Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
