Weekly Fighter Verse

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Weekly New City Catechism

Question 35: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through faith alone, where does this faith come from?

Answer*: All the gifts we receive from Christ we receive through the Holy Spirit, including faith itself.

*Children’s answer is the bold text

Next Sunday's Sermon Text

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Cancelled KCC CONTINENTAL SUNDAY BREAKFASTS

October 1st | 9AM – 9:45AM @ 2nd St

Many of those on our meal team will be away the first week in October so we will not be having our monthly church breakfast on October 1st. MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

October 1st & 8th | 1:30-3:30pm @ 2nd St Building

We believe that the church is the family of God on the mission of God. We love one another as brothers and sisters. Yet we are also missionaries who are teaming up to advance God’s kingdom. We believe this is best lived out in the context of covenant membership in a local church.

If you can only make one session, you can still pursue membership. You can makeup the session by listening to the Membership Matters podcast and then we will follow up with you. Please let us know if you are planning to attend by clicking on the corresponding button below.

There is a mom’s group studying the book M is for Mama by Abbie Halberstadt this October with the goal of fighting back stereotypes about motherhood. If you’re a mom, consider joining them to explore ways to celebrate Christ not only in the victories, but also in the challenges of parenting. The Injustice of Abortion

Sunday, October 15th | 6:00pm @ 2nd St Building

In our Nov 7 elections Ohioans will have a say in whether to allow abortions for up to 9 months. Join us on Sunday, Oct 15 at 6:00pm to be better informed about why we believe that abortion is a grave moral injustice, be equipped to persuade our neighbors to value human life in the womb, and most importantly, to pray. We will be watching a powerful documentary and praying. Invite your neighbors.

KCC Loop Newsletter Prayer

We Would Love to Pray for You

Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
