We live in a distracted world. We get so busy doing and going that we often get distracted on what matters most. Last Sunday sermon spoke to that busyness. In our anxious busyness, the one thing necessary is to enjoy the presence and teaching of Jesus. And many (though not all) of the activities we do are good, but spending time is the better option, every time. Nothing compares. Everything else is second-rate. We need to slow down and recalibrate our priorities. That’s not easy. Sometimes that means going to bed earlier in order to get up early and spend time in God’s Word and prayer. Sometimes it means getting creative in spending time with the Lord, like the story of Susanna Wesley and the prayer apron. Whatever the case, it will be time well spent.

All guys and boys are invited to come hang out at Matt Woodcox’s place near Antwerp, OH on Friday, October 15th @ 5pm. We will be roasting hot dogs over the fire, but bring a side or a snack to share. Stay informed by texting “@kccguys” to 81010 or talk to Sam, Matt, or Josh.

Membership Matters
October 24th & 31st
1:30-3:30pm @ the Commons

We believe that the church is the family of God on the mission of God. We love one another as brothers and sisters. Yet we are also missionaries who are teaming up to advance God’s kingdom. We believe this is best lived out in the context of covenant membership in a local church. Becoming a covenant member means locking arms with others who have the same desire to know Jesus and make Him known in the world.

We are planning to host a Membership Matters class for all who are interested in learning more about covenant membership at KCC. We will meet on two consecutive Sunday afternoons, October 24th and 31st, from 1:30-3:30pm at the Commons (521 W. 2nd St.). This is a time for people to explore what we believe and why we believe it. If you’re concerned about childcare, please let us know. We have people who would be willing to babysit for those who need it. If you can only make one session, you can still pursue membership. We can makeup the session by listening to the Membership Matters podcast. You can listen to these and then we will follow up with you. For more information about our covenant membership process or to sign up, click on the corresponding button below. If you would also like childcare, also let us know that.

Missions Moment: YFC

Youth For Christ (YFC) reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. Three KCC members are supported full-time to serve the Defiance Area: Eliot Nofziger (Archbold), Lydia Nofziger (Stryker), and Claire Turner (Defiance). If you would like to learn more or to get involved, click on one of the buttons below.

Every Sunday, 9am @ YMCA

Students in 3rd-5th grade are invited to participate in King’s Crew every Sunday morning @ 9am until December. Students will be learning theology through songs with actions and choreography. In December, King’s Crew will sing a song during the Sunday morning worship gathering. Parents can either drop their kids off and stay for coffee and fellowship with other parents. Contact Chelsea for more information.

Almost a year ago, we decided to make a new KCC t-shirt. Well, after some complications, we finally got one made. Now it’s available. If you originally signed up for a t-shirt, we have them reserved for you. But we also have extras. So if you would like a KCC t-shirt, we have them available for $10 @ the YMCA.

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
