One unique aspect of the Christian faith is that we call God our Father. All other major religions cannot make this claim. In fact, God as Father is a common theme in the New Testament. This is especially important in regards to prayer. In last Sunday’s sermon, we were encouraged to consciously rely on God in prayer and to persistently do so because God is our Father. What a glorious reality! We often fail to approach God either because we don’t believe He is our Father or we don’t trust in His goodness. But God is a good and loving Father, so some to Him as a child comes to his or her Father. He doesn’t want it any other way.

Membership Matters
October 24th & 31st
1:30-3:30pm @ the Commons

We believe that the church is the family of God on the mission of God. We love one another as brothers and sisters. Yet we are also missionaries who are teaming up to advance God’s kingdom. We believe this is best lived out in the context of covenant membership in a local church. Becoming a covenant member means locking arms with others who have the same desire to know Jesus and make Him known in the world.

We are planning to host a Membership Matters class for all who are interested in learning more about covenant membership at KCC. We will meet on two consecutive Sunday afternoons, October 24th and 31st, from 1:30-3:30pm at the Commons (521 W. 2nd St.). This is a time for people to explore what we believe and why we believe it. If you’re concerned about childcare, please let us know. We have people who would be willing to babysit for those who need it. If you can only make one session, you can still pursue membership. We can makeup the session by listening to the Membership Matters podcast. You can listen to these and then we will follow up with you. For more information about our covenant membership process or to sign up, click on the corresponding button below. If you would also like childcare, also let us know that.

Malawi Bible Collection

We are taking up a collection for Bibles to be printed in the Chichewa language for our brothers and sisters in Malawi, Africa. Our goal is to raise $1,875 to purchase 250 Bibles by October 31st, but the more the better! We have global partners in Malawi through the Pastoral Training Institute of Africa (ptia.org) and the Southern Africa Church Planting Initiative. You can give 1) on Sunday mornings by putting cash or checks in the giving envelopes marked “Malawi Bible Collection” and put in giving box or 2) give online and email Chad Baus to earmark your gift for Malawi Bibles.

KCC T-SHIRTS

Almost a year ago, we decided to make a new KCC t-shirt. Well, after some complications, we finally got one made. Now it’s available. If you originally signed up for a t-shirt, we have them reserved for you. But we also have extras. So if you would like a KCC t-shirt, we have them available for $10 @ the YMCA.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING at KCC

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY FOR YOU

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
