Whoever says, “The Bible is boring,” either is not truly reading the Bible, not truly born again, or just hates reading in general. If you have spent any amount of time reading the Bible, you could say that it is fascinating, perplexing, surprising, powerful, difficult, awe-inspiring, mind-boggling, and any number of descriptions, but never boring or uninteresting. This is evident from last Sunday’s sermon on Jesus’ return and the “man of lawlessness” in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Even in the most difficult parts of the Bible that are not as clear as we would like them to be, God has intentionally included these parts for our good. God has given us His Word so we may know truth and not be deceived. He has also given us His Spirit to help us learn and obey more fully His Word. So be encouraged that God is working through His Spirit in us as we read and study His Word. We can know the truth because God is the giver of truth.

  • Tree Lighting

  • Neverland Desert Party

Since the YMCA has been so gracious in letting us meet at their facility, one way to keep them going is to join in supporting through this fundraiser. Click on the button below for more information and upcoming online events.

Most every year KCC has given the Sunday offering on Thanksgiving weekend to our Compassion Fund, which goes toward helping people in our congregation and local community. That means our church budget is based on 51 weeks of giving, not 52. However, this year our Compassion Fund is well resourced. So we’re planning to give the Thanksgiving offering to a place of more extreme need…

As the weather gets colder, people need warmth. The PATH Center, our local homeless mission and shelter, is in need of blankets to give away to those in need. COVID-19 restrictions has made it more challenging to love our neighbors, but this is a practical way to do so. You can either donate NEW or CLEAN USED (please wash beforehand) blankets. You can drop blankets off at the Commons, take them directly to the PATH Center (though their open hours have changed due to COVID-19), or bring them to your GLG. Matt Parks or Robin Nofziger will collect them and deliver them to the PATH Center. For more information, send us a message.

We are planning to host a Membership Matters class for all who are interested in learning more about covenant membership at KCC. We are planning to meet on two consecutive Sunday afternoons, November 15th and 22nd, from 1:30-3:30pm. You can either join us in person at the Commons (521 W. 2nd St.) or join us on Zoom (LINK: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3419505049, PW: 2020). This is a time for people to explore what we believe and why we believe it. Due to COVID-19 precautions, we will not be having a meal or childcare and will be wearing masks. If you can only make one session, you can still pursue membership. Let us know and we will follow up with you. For more information about our covenant membership process or to sign up, click on the corresponding button below.
