Looking Forward to Christ's Evaluation

1 Corinthians 3:18–4:7 | When we step back to evaluate how we evaluate ourselves, we can see that it's Christ's evaluation that matters most. | I. A self-deceived worldly evaluation, 1 Cor. 3:18-23 | II. A self-forgetting eschatological evaluation, 1 Cor 4:1-5 | III. A self-aware grateful evaluation, 1 Cor 4:6-7

KCC SUNDAY WORSHIP GATHERING IS MOVING
December 4th @ 2nd St. Building | 10:00AM

A little over two years ago, we started meeting at the YMCA during the early day of COVID. In our 9 years as a church, we have met at 5 locations (The Compass, Defiance College Campus, Stroede Center, Independence Dam, and the YMCA). We’re excited to announce that we now have a 6th location. And hopefully we will stay at this location a bit longer. Our currently tenure at any location is 3 years. We hope to crush that record.

So mark your calendars to join us on December 4th at our 2nd Street location (1945 E. 2nd St.). Also, we will be moving out of the YMCA right after the worship gathering on November 27th. So if you can stay and help, we can get our stuff moved out of the YMCA and into the 2nd Street building in a short amount of time.

KCC BUILDING RENOVATION UPDATES
2nd St. and Florence Ave. Locations

As we continue to work on the building renovations, we’ll try to keep you updated through the LOOP. We try to post pictures or other updates as needed so that we can all see the progress as well as the work that still needs to be completed. Here is a glimpse of our men’s small groups meeting in the midst of taking down the ceiling tiles at our last Equipping Classes meeting for the year.

NEW CITY CATECHISM: Question 47

QUESTION: Does the Lord’s Supper add anything to Christ’s atoning work?

ANSWER*: No, Christ died once for all. The Lord’s Supper is a covenant meal celebrating Christ’s atoning work; as it is also a means of strengthening our faith as we look to him, and a foretaste of the future feast. But those who take part with unrepentant hearts eat and drink judgment on themselves.

WEEKLY FIGHTER VERSE: Hebrews 11:6

[And] without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY FOR YOU

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING at KCC

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselors are certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

  4. Drop in giving box on Sundays at the YMCA.

COMPASSION FUND

We know that with many businesses and services being shut down, people are losing jobs and struggling to pay their bills. If you are in need of help, we would like to know. We have a Compassion Fund for this reason. Fill out the film below as best you can and we will follow up with you.
