Isn’t it a comfort that God seeks after proud people? That was one of the main points from last Sunday’s sermon. If we’re honest, we are all proud people, yet God doesn’t always give us what we deserve. He is merciful to those who humble themselves. God is definitely able to humble us, but it is far better to humble ourselves rather than have him do it for us. But even so, God pursues us even in our pridefulness, just as he did King Nebuchadnezzar. One day God will humble every proud person, but we have the assurance that God is kind and gentle with those who know they need to be humbled because of their sin. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. That is a promise we can hold onto.
GOSPEL LIFE GROUPS
RE:GARDING HIM WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
MARCH 19 or 20
Every woman wants to feel fulfilled. Yet the things we pursue to give our lives meaning often leave us feeling empty instead. At re:garding HIM you will explore how living according to God‘s design gives us true and joyful purpose.
This year there are two identical options from which you can choose:
- Friday, March 19, 7:00-9:30pm
- Saturday, March 20, 9:00-11:30am
Both events are held at Christ The Word Church (3100 Murd Rd, Sylvania, OH). For more information about the event, contact Chelsea Andres or click on one of the buttons below.
WOMEN’S STUDY
Women’s Study starts back up soon. They will meet every Tuesday @ 7pm at the Commons and on Zoom for 6-7 weeks straight beginning in March. They will be doing a study on Hebrews 11 by Trillia Newbell called, “A Great Cloud of Witnesses.” Throughout Scripture we find countless stories of God’s faithfulness—we also find countless stories of the people who remained faithful to Him. To strengthen and deepen your own faith, enter the stories of God’s imperfect yet faithful people, such as Rahab, Enoch, Gideon, Sarah, and many more whose faiths withstood the tests of their days. For more information, contact Chelsea Andres.
