This week has historically been a somber yet celebratory week. It is somber in that Christians from all times and places have gathered on Good Friday to remember Jesus’ death. But this is followed by the joyous celebration that He rose from the dead! Similarly, we as a church will be gathering to worship the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus!

GOOD FRIDAY AND RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Join us 7PM on Friday, April 2nd at the YMCA for Good Friday Communion. Childcare for 3 and under will be provided. Jesus not only died on the cross for our sins, but he demonstrated his power over death by being raised from the dead. So join us Sunday, April 4th to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection! In addition to gathering together to worship at 10AM, we will also be having a light breakfast beforehand at 9AM. So come out and enjoy some fellowship and some COVID-friendly snacks and drinks.

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS
APRIL 18TH & 25TH

We will be hosting a Membership Matters class on two consecutive Sundays, April 18th and 25th, from 1:30-3:30pm at the Commons and on Zoom for those interested in learning more about KCC membership. We believe that the church is the family of God on the mission of God. We love one another as brothers and sisters. Yet we are also missionaries who are teaming up to advance God’s kingdom. We believe this is best lived out in the context of covenant membership in a local church.

If you are still interested in covenant membership but cannot make the classes, you can listen to the Membership Matters Podcast and meeting a couple times with a KCC elder or member on an individual basis. For more information or to sign up, click on the button below.

SABBATICAL FOR SAM’S FAMILY

it is with great joy that the King’s Cross Church Council of Elders officially announce, after nearly two years of prayer and preparation, that we have commissioned Pastor Sam to take a twelve week Sabbatical this summer!  Starting in June Sam and his family will begin a summer of travel that, Lord willing, will end with a trip to Malawi for Sam to connect with and encourage local church planters. You can read more of the details on our blog post.

SECRET CHURCH 21
FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD

Secret Church is a unique, one-night event that is simulcast to over 50,000 participants around the world. Encouraged by our persecuted brothers and sisters’ example, we meet for over 6 hours for intense study of God’s Word and passionate prayer for the persecuted. The theme this year is “The Great Imbalance.” Go and make disciples of all nations. A clear command and monumental charge from Jesus. Yet what if, despite our best intentions and sincerest efforts as the church to obey Jesus, we are actually ignoring what he said? This is what we will be learning about this year.

One of the purposes of Secret Church is to simulate what meeting as the body of Christ in secret is like in countries where it is hostile or even illegal to be a Christian. To this end, we encourage you to gather in small groups with other Christians if possible. If you would like to host a Secret Church meeting at your home, please let us know.

HELP WANTED: KCC VIDEO MINISTRY

In the craziness of COVID-19, KCC started streaming our Sunday gatherings to Facebook and YouTube.  While we exhort everyone to come worship Christ in person with the gathered church, we all have good reason to stay home at times and are blessed by the video stream.

However, a new ministry needs a new ministry team.  Currently, the video ministry rests on the shoulders of two people.  So we are looking for a few new servant-hearted people to train for video ministry. You don’t have to know anything about video. We will train you. Contact Matt Verhoff if interested, or fill out this contact form.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.
