It’s not every week that we get to talk about nightmares and beasts during our Sunday morning worship gathering. But this was the case in last Sunday’s sermon from Daniel 7. Even in the midst of such confusion and chaos, God stands above it all. Furthermore, He is actively working in the chaos. So when beastly kings do terrifying things, we can see the King in heaven who rules eternally. We must cling to this truth, especially when we are tempted to not believe it. This isn’t the power of positive thinking or false optimism, this is biblical hope.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING OPPORTUNITIES

The Bible teaches that believers have the responsibility to admonish the unruly, encourage those who are struggling, help the weak, and be patient with everyone (1 Thess. 5:14). Biblical counseling lives out this command. We have had quite a few people from KCC go to biblical counseling seminars put on by Faith Biblical Counseling. If you are at all interested in being trained in biblical counseling, we highly recommend these two upcoming fully online training opportunities. Both of these options are offered online and are relatively inexpensive (between $200-300). If you have any questions about these options or would like financial assistance, email us.

Monday Basic Training Course
This is an 11-Week class that meets on Mondays from March 15th to May 24th. This is a certified training center for those wishing to pursue ACBC Certification. Keep in mind that this is a class with coursework.

Virtual Regional Training Conference
This is a one-weekend a month training that covers a full week’s worth of material in three consecutive months (Mar. 26-27, Apr. 23-24, May 21-22). This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to soak up training while having a month in-between processing time. There is no assigned work between training weekends so you can just attend and learn.

Receive Biblical Counseling from KCC Counselors
Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So w
e offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

jeremy rupp: kcc Elder Candidate

Every organization needs some form of leadership. Sports teams have coaches. Schools have administration. Businesses have boards, and CEO’s and managers. The church has shepherds. KCC is led by a team of elders/pastors (we see these terms used synonymous in the New Testament) who have a desire, calling from God and calling from the congregation to shepherd people. In our March 28, 2021 Covenant Members’ Meeting we are voting on Jeremy Rupp as a KCC elder/pastor.

RE:GARDING HIM WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
MARCH 19 or 20

Every woman wants to feel fulfilled. Yet the things we pursue to give our lives meaning often leave us feeling empty instead. At re:garding HIM you will explore how living according to God‘s design gives us true and joyful purpose.

This year there are two identical options from which you can choose:

  • Friday, March 19, 7:00-9:30pm
  • Saturday, March 20, 9:00-11:30am

Both events are held at Christ The Word Church (3100 Murd Rd, Sylvania, OH). For more information about the event, contact Chelsea Andres or click on one of the buttons below.

GLOBAL AND LOCAL MISSIONS PRAYER WALL

King’s Cross Church is living proof of the beauty that comes from churches collaborating for the kingdom of God. We got our start from two churches partnering together to initiate a church plant in Defiance in 2012. Those churches are Archbold Evangelical Church and Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. Along with these two churches, KCC is part of a larger conference of churches called The Fellowship of Evangelical Churches as well as a member of the Acts 29 church planting network. By the grace of God and the generosity of his people, we have the joy of giving to various other gospel ministries locally and globally from our ministry budget. To this end, we created a Global and Local Missions Prayer Wall at our Office and Commons. The above picture shows all the missionaries that we currently support as a church. Our global missions partners are in red and our local missions partners are in yellow. So the next time you are at the Commons, remember to pray for these missionaries and their ministries. And we also want to thank Doug Smith for putting this map together for us.
