Last Sunday’s sermon on the resurrected Jesus appearing to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus is one of the most endearing yet perplexing passages in the New Testament. It is endearing in that Jesus takes time to listen and then correct these two discouraged souls. It is perplexing in that he interprets the Old Testament in light of his resurrection, but Luke records none of the details. Oh, to have been able to hear that conversation! For sure, much of the Old Testament is difficult to understand, but Jesus gives us the interpretive clue: Himself. Just as the old saying goes, “All roads lead to Rome,” so also all passages in the Old Testament lead to Christ. So be encouraged to read the Old Testament as a book about the Christ. By God’s grace, the Spirit will help you both be able to make sense of and even enjoy getting to know God the Son in Moses and the Prophets.

Acts 29 Church Planting

Kid's Corner

Last Sunday we highlighted our partnership with Acts 29, a global network for churches serious about church planting. Click on the image above to watch a video about planting churches in hard places. In 2021, Acts 29 welcomed 58 new churches into our diverse, global community—including 30 brand-new church plants! They also celebrated over 7,500 conversions in Acts 29 churches globally as more people made decisions to follow Jesus! The Lord is expanding His kingdom through this ministry, and we get to be a part of it.

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
