Once a month we affirm together with believers throughout history these words about Jesus from the Apostles’ Creed, “The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty…” When was the last time you heard a sermon or attended a Bible study on the ascension of Jesus? This was the focus of last Sunday’s sermon. Sam preached a great message on this foundational yet often neglected teaching. It answers the basic question, “Where is Jesus now and what is he doing?” According to Scripture, Jesus is reigning over his church and interceding for his people. Be encouraged that Jesus did not ascend to heaven for eternal vacation but is actively interceding for us as our eternal High Priest.

As a participant in Table Talks, you will be assigned to a small group that will meet with the same host family all three months. We hope this will create opportunities for deeper friendships and build a stronger church family as a whole as well as build relationships with our brothers and sisters at Second Baptist Church. While we can’t accommodate everyone’s schedule, we hope you will make Table Talks a priority and modify your own schedule in order to attend. New Song:
Bless The Lord, O My Soul (Psalm 103)

In Colossians 3:16, the Apostle Paul encourages believers, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…” One of the means in which he mentions is by singing psalms. The Book of Psalms is the songbook and prayerbook of the Bible. The psalms are the inspired word of God and the songs that Jesus sang. Not only do they teach us how to pray, but they also teach us how to sing and pour out our hearts to God. The psalms speak to the depth and breadth of human emotion and are full of praise, lament, thanksgiving, confession, and glimpses of the Messiah.

At KCC we have intentionally introduced modern arrangements based on specific psalms in Scriptures. In the next few weeks, we will be introducing “Bless the Lord, O My Soul (Psalm 103).” It is a psalm speaking about the glories of God’s character. It also calls us to “bless” the Lord, which simply means to praise Him. So listen start listening to this song to get the Word of God in your hearts as we prepare to bless the Lord together on Sunday.

QUESTION: Is there any way to escape punishment and be brought back into God’s favor?

ANSWER*: Yes, to satisfy his justice, God himself, out of mere mercy, reconciles us to himself and delivers us from sin and from the punishment for sin, by a Redeemer.

*Children answer is the bold text

Galatians 5:22-23 – “[But] the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Thursdays @ 6:30pm

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
