People do not read the Bible; they read Christians. The Christian faith is a practical one. It is meant to be lived out. Starting this Sunday, we will be preaching through the Letter of James during the summer. “Faith without works is dead,” says James. As Christians we are called to faithfully live as exiles in a Babylonian-like culture. You might ask, “Ok, so how do I practically go about living this way?” The Letter of James offers practical wisdom to many facets of life, such as how to deal with trials, temptation, anger, moral obedience, favoritism, works vs. faith, controlling the tongue, pride, God’s will, wealth, patience, and prayer. And this wisdom does not come from this world; you could say that it’s otherworldly wisdom (James 4:13-17).

BAPTISM Testimonies

It was a joy to be able to baptism three people who recently made a commitment to trust in Jesus alone for salvation: Amanda Grimm, Elijah Delgado, and Max McAdoo. You can watch the stories of how each of them came to understand God’s saving grace in their lives by clicking on the graphic above. You can also watch the Facebook Live video of their actual baptism HERE.

summer food program

During the summer months, we are helping serve lunch to children in need once a week at Latty Grove Park from 12-12:30pm. We do not have to prepare the meals. We simply come and serve. It takes less than an hour, so you could easily do it on your lunch break if you work in Defiance. Please contact Cassie Verhoff if you are able to help.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING at KCC

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY FOR YOU

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
