God is love. This is probably three of the most often used words to describe God. Jeremy’s sermon last Sunday was on this attribute of God. God is often portrayed in Scripture as a loving Father, which sets Him apart from other faith traditions. He relates to His people as His children and not just subjects. This is because He doesn’t merely tolerate us but loves us. And not because there is anything inherently lovable about us, sinners as we are, but because He has chosen to love us despite our sinful tendencies. He loved us to the point of sending His son to pay the penalty of our sin. In short, if we want to know how much God loves you, look at the cross.

NEW CITY CATECHISM: Question 34
QUESTION: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God’s Word?
ANSWER*: Yes, because Christ, having redeemed us by his blood, also renews us by his Spirit; so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; so that we may be assured of our faith by the fruits; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING at KCC
WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY FOR YOU
We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
