WE ARE MOVING TO THE YMCA!

Our church is on the move again! We’re moving to the Defiance YMCA in less than two weeks. We are not only changing locations but also our meeting time. Starting Sunday, October 4th, we are going to be meeting at the YMCA for our Sunday morning worship gathering @ 10am. One detail that stood out in last Sunday’s sermon on  1 Thessalonians 3:1-13 was not only Paul’s deep concern for the Thessalonian believers but specifically his words in 1 Thessalonians 3:10, “…we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face…” This was definitely true of the KCC Elders when we moved from “meeting” online to meeting at the Independence Dam. Now, again, we are looking forward to moving to the Defiance YMCA.

There is no online experience that can replace the physical gathering of believers. Even though we will be cautious without being fearful when moving indoors, we are grateful to be meeting to encourage one another face to face. That being said, we recognize that it is wise for some people to stay home. So when we move, we are still going to have an option to join online. We also want to strongly encourage those who are healthy and able to attend in person. Unfortunately, the nursery and King’s Kids will not be available at the YMCA until further notice. In the meantime, everyone knows that kids make some noise sometimes, and we can all live with that. The large lobby at the YMCA Youth Center will be a “cry room” if parents want to take their kids out. We’ve all been there, some of us still are there, and prioritizing corporate worship even when there is no childcare is worth it.

KCC INVITE/EVANGELISM CARD

Last Sunday we passed out some business card size invites as a way of equipping KCC to invite people into gospel conversations. Rather than just say, “Go proclaim the gospel!,” Sam recorded this short video to walk you through how to use this simple tool to tell others about the good news about Jesus.

COVENANT EYES
INTERNET ACCOUNTABILITY SOFTWARE

Covenant Eyes is an accountability and filtering software that protects individuals and families online and live free from pornography. Jesus considered sexual purity and holiness so important and serious as to propose gouging out one’s eye or cutting off a limb before lusting after another human being (Matt. 5:27-30). Internet accountability doesn’t have to cost you a proverbial arm or leg. If you join the King’s Cross community on Covenant Eyes, you will be able to sign-up at a discounted rate of $11.99 for individuals and families. Of course, if you ever have any questions, please email Matthew Parks.
