Is it God’s will that everyone be healed? Absolutely! This statement shouldn’t shock us. It’s never been a question of whether or not God can and does heal but when He will do it. God is the great physician and His remedy for sin and suffering in life is not a prescription but a person. Jesus heals every believer by his wounds (1 Pet. 2:24). If you didn’t get a chance to listen to last Sunday’s sermon on divine healing, you can listen online. Believers should be encouraged that healing in this great, but there is a greater healing in Jesus that goes beyond this life into eternity. So pray for healing, and have the elders and others pray for you. But don’t get so caught up on being healed in this life that you miss out on the greater healing in Jesus.

Gospel Life Groups

The goal of Gospel Life Groups is to bring the gospel into everyday life as the family of God on the mission of God. They put the mission of the church (i.e., to make disciples of Jesus Christ) at the forefront of everything we do. Groups of 12-20 people get together in homes for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. In addition, each group serves in the community in some way to engage our community for the gospel.

Equipping Classes

We are meeting this fall every other week on Tuesday mornings @ 6:30am and an identical class every other Wednesday evenings @ 7pm. Both classes will be at the Commons. Nearly every GLG will meet 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, so we will have the Wednesday Equipping Class on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and the Tuesday Equipping Class will be the Tuesday before.

The topic of Equipping Classes this fall is on the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is a common theme in the Gospels, but what does it really mean? How does it affect my everyday life? That is what we will be exploring. Each lesson will have 10 or so pages of reading and discussion questions. In addition, there will be a link to a sermon to listen to and take notes. We will gather together every other week to discuss the workbook.

The first class starts on Tuesday, September 21st for the morning class and Wednesday, September 22nd for the evening class. Let me know ASAP if you want to join this semester so I can get you a workbook by clicking on the button below.

Defiance United
SUnday, September 12th

Defiance United will be hosted at Family Christian Center on September 12th @ 6:30PM. This is a time when churches come together for worship and prayer. Consider uniting together with other brothers and sisters to lift up our community in prayer.

Covenant Members’ Meeting
Sunday, September 26th

We are planning on having a Covenant Members’ Meeting right after the worship gathering on September 26th. If you are a covenant member, please prioritize attending as we will be presenting and affirming new members. Also, per the KCC Constitution, we will be re-affirming a few of our existing elders for 3-year terms.

The Andres family is back in full swing after our summer sabbatical, refreshed and full of gratitude. Sam put together a blog post and video about their travels and spiritual rest. Click on the button below to read the post.

The CPC needs volunteers to make baked goods (pies are great sellers) for a bake sale at the ‘Steps for Life’ Walkathon. Please bake your goodies and bring them to the Walk at MacDonald-Ruff Ice Arena on Townline Road in Bryan on Sept 18th. (Please have them at the ice rink by 9:00am.) If you would like to bring them earlier, you may drop them off at the business office on Friday, September 17th.

Life is full of things to be discouraged about, and it can be overwhelming. We believe that Jesus offers real help, hope, and healing in the difficulties of life. We believe that the power of God’s Word and Spirit offers hope of life change from the inside out. So we offer biblical counseling to those needing the comfort and wisdom of Scripture. While we believe God can work through various methods of counseling, our lead counselor is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). We also have pastors and other counselors who have received training from Faith Biblical Counseling, and are able and willing to counsel according to the Scriptures.

If you would like to explore meeting with one of our counselors, please fill out the contact form by clicking on the button below and we will try to match you with someone.

We would love to pray for you! Some people think that only major crises of life are worth praying for, but the truth is that everyone needs prayer for something. James 4:2 says that we do not have because we do not ask, and when we do we often have false or impure motives. So the first step is to ask. So please come and let us pray for you in person at our Sunday worship gathering. Or, if you would like prayer now, just click the button below and fill out the form and we will pray for you.
