Genesis 3:14-24 - East of Eden
I. The consequence of sin in the created order is now chaotic and cursed. 1. God curses the serpent/Satan with lifelong misery and a future final death blow. (3:14-15) 2. God gives Eve the consequence of pain in childbirth and frustration in the marriage relationship. (3:16) 3. God gives Adam the consequence of cursed ground, frustrated work, and physical death. (3:17-19) 4. God gives all humanity the consequence of living East of Eden. (3:20-24) II. The consequence of Christ's coming is the crushing of Satan and the reversal of the curse.
